October 11, 1999.I had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. (The Boy says that it's a sure sign of getting old when you start really enjoying a large home-cooked meal and light conversation.) Even the fact that I had to work on Saturday & Sunday wasn't too bad; at least this week I had a chance to sleep in on Monday. The family gatherings went really well - in fact, I liked being at the Boy's grandparents more than I enjoyed my own grandmother's feast. I've discovered a thirst for quiet family events, in contrast to my family's usual high population scream-a-thon. Besides, the Boy's family are friends of mine. It's not my duty to get along with them, like it was with Alexi. Although Scout was putting a lot of marital pressure on me this weekend. But it was kind of cute.
I apologize for the truncated quality of this entry, but I have homework to complete for the first time in months...and it's a presentation for my 6's, so I actually care about doing it well. Funny how contentment doesn't produce that much copy. Or maybe it's the dope effects of the turkey. Until next time. |
