So very sleepy. I'm so tense these days that I can't sleep despite my growing fatigue. Why am I tense? Working 14 days straight has something to do with it. I dread going to my day job every morning...not just because I want to sleep, or because I want to wear something comfortable for 20 minutes, but mostly because I have to continually panhandle for work. Whereas last week, they couldn't use me enough, this week I have to continually solicit for assignments. I've grown to resent one of the girls who seemed so friendly last week...she is now the coldest and least forthcoming.

In essence, every day I have to dress up, go to a cold annoying office, listen to idiots loudly waste time around me and then struggle to keep from appearing lazy. I have better things to do with my life.

Although right now, I need the money. So I suck it back, keep smiling, keep working and shove the anger deep into my throat. Perhaps one afternoon I'll make a scene & be carried away screaming...but hopefully it won't come to that.

But it's not all grim. I had a wonderful time at Game last night. I had promised myself that I wouldn't return to Aftermath after my period of mourning, simply because it's too tiring to commute that late at night after a full day of work & class. My one weakness is, of course, the Boy, and when he asked me to come see his "entertainment," I soon found myself working on expedient character concepts. Fortunately, he happened to have the position of personal slave open...so that's what I was. It's rather fitting...he calls me out of Game exile by force of personality, only to make me his blood-bound retainer. Yeah.

The entertainment in question was a hilarious game show type deal created by the Boy's crazy character Ulysses. Questions ranged from "what colour is my uvula?" to "which album was not released by Brian Wilson?" to my own personal favourite:

ulysses: you're walking through the desert. You see a tortoise on its back. Do you:

a) flip it over?
b) walk by?
c) tell it about your mother? or...
d) all of the above?

contestant: what's a tortoise?

Hilarious.

And just in case you thought all my pleasures were geek-dependent, I'm also quite pleased by a rather splendid package containing an old school marriage preparation manual form that arrived in the mail from one Miss Amy. She seems awfully happy with her Andy, so I can one hope that the magic will rub off from the book. Yay!
