the black lodge

little spider's very red flat. midgets and giants and eternal mystery abound.

the cave

the basement of my parents' house, also known as the future home of our little nuclear family. appearing sooner than you think!

the garden

the savage garden, a toronto goth institution. i spend way too much frigging time in the garden. fortunately, much of that time is in the company of dirk & stacy, so i consider it time well wasted.

gomorrah

my cute little name for the teeming megopolis more commonly known as toronto. within this megacity we live in the district of torque.

hogsboro

the northern-most city in the SHSD, and the town in which i have found gainful employment. named after a town created by daniel pinkwater, it's kinda cute in a post-nova-gothic 'they consider this a small town?!' way.
hogsboro high
the school where i teach english to the young & skeptical.
the house where nobody lives
dirk, tymothi:j & st. pete keep their stuff there, but trying to catch any one of them at home is next to impossible (especially since tym moved to the netherlands).
mount olympus
our cozy second-floor aerie, perched high atop the chaos that is mortal life on the lower levels. divine lunatics inhabit the slopes and shatter the peace with their mournful laments. cup-bearing by invitation only.

nova gothic

nova scotia, the eastern province that produced anne murray, alastair maclean & the nightshade clan. it was my home during 'the student teacher years.' i loved the way that living there expanded my capacity for serenity, peace & joy...not to mention the clean air, palpable history and apples the size of my head. see also: wolfvegas.

the rockethome

as i am rocketbride, this is the generic name for wherever i happen to live.

sodom heights school district

my oh-so-clever pseudonym for the school board that employs me was chosen by thinking about the least likely name for a town, not by reflection on buggery or lack thereof in the area. this is also the board i grew up in, although my former home is several kilometers from my current job. still, i find it's kind of nice to be known as a local girl who's made good.
wolfvegas
the small town we inhabited during our time in nova gothic. so big that you can get philosophy texts & lattes in a minute's walk; so small that you're guaranteed to run into at least two people you know every time you leave your house.
