October 25, 1999.

Finally finished my tiny little book review tonight. It's only supposed to be about 750-1000 words...consequently, I've been dogging it. Fiercely. Okay, I only finished the book on Sunday. But I could've done it yesterday evening or earlier this evening. This is the problem with really short assignments: I fail to take them seriously. More my fault than the assignment's, though.

Remind me never to read another book on the Counter Reformation again.

Not much going on today. This morning I woke up late - forgot to set the alarm - and as I was frantically dressing for school, realized that things shouldn't be this clear first thing in the morning. At which point I divined that I must have fallen asleep in my contacts. So, a stellar morning all round.

In the afternoon I cleaned up my room with a vengeance, and in the process managed to get my hands on a number of lost items. All of which, curiously enough, had been hiding in my various underwear drawers. I have two, you see. Don't stare so; it's important to have a lot of underwear in university in order to stretch out laundry periods. But this doesn't explain why all my stuff turns up there. Hmmm.

Class today. What was good about class today? Um...the thrill of helping them with rudimentary French skills is wearing a bit thin. I rode herd on one of the boys for about 15 minutes before I gave up: he was constantly accusing the other kids of "sucking," but remained relatively unresponsive to my attempt at correction. So I gave up. (By the way, my opinion is that this sort of thing isn't squashing creative expression; it's protecting the other kids from the pointless nastiness of a pointless jerk).

I think I need a day off.
