"If I was born in the forties, I'd be a teen in the fifties. And maybe I watch too much t.v…."

Unusually for me, I've had the teevee on all night. Well, I had to listen to something - the Boy worked late today and there's nothing lamer than a silent apartment. Also unusually, I spent the entire evening doing housework, attending to my earth for hours and hours. The house still hasn't recovered from the Attack of the Material Possessions (And Their Various Boxes), but it's getting easier to move around. Another night of obsessive re-arranging and I just may live in a friendly environment again. Hey, stranger things have happened. I mean, I roasted a chicken this evening - with only minor help from the "Best of Bridge" cookbook series - which seems pretty damn strange.

Yeah, I'm June goddamn Cleaver these days. When you have no place to wear your PVC pants, it all starts to go downhill. I spent some time this afternoon downloading half-naked pictures of Siouxsie Sioux; maybe that'll stem the decline. But I doubt it, Gentle Reader. I doubt it very much.

Second meeting with the Department this afternoon. I was five minutes late due to a bagel emergency (I ran out of time to eat a bagel) - not a good way to start out. Fortunately, the boss lady is a bit busy herself - a bit busy in the way that the Atlantic Ocean is a bit wet. We established hours & assignments, and I should begin on Thursday. Fun time.

Other than that, it was a depressing kind of day. I went out of my way to dress well, but nobody noticed. Then again, who would? Class was a trial as I had foolishly left my laptop active during the lesson, and consequently spent most of my attention in housekeeping & downloading those nudie Siouxsies mentioned above. Whenever I would surface into the lesson it always seemed to have moved several steps beyond what I understood, leaving me with a fine thin panic. Damn demon computers! I have to be firm with myself if I want to get anything done - my attention is on a hair-trigger and a lecture is no match for the succubae lure of the World Wide Web.
