Today I saw Wesley Snipes talking about Blade II on one of those fatuous infotainment programs. They asked him when he decided to film a sequel to the first movie, and he responded that they had wanted to do a second movie even while they shot the first. I was heartily amused: Oh yeah, there were so many questions left unanswered by the first Blade. My mind was reeling for days.
Actually, I did wonder how an automatic computer program managed to crack an ancient code with no human guidance, but I doubt if they'll address that question.
Ah Blade. 5 minutes of right, 90 minutes of stupid. The first bloodbath scene, set to the New Order remix, is just about perfect. That's exactly what my experience is like in a goth club...except for the real vampire stuff, of course. I mostly run into guys who dance with their capes.
