Hey Javina, thanks for the shout-out! Being nominated for a Diarist Award makes me feel all warm inside, especially since I thought I was the only one who cared about the Convergence entry.

And though it bugs me that the legacy awards are now being given out to diaries half the age of mine, that's emphatically not Javina's fault. Hell, her site's been going on longer than mine.

Now no one's knocked upon my door for 1000 years or more...

Yup, just me and the Police. Solitude is a beautiful thing.

Sigh.

This was one of the slow days. I got up, continued to tinker with site graphics, woke up the Boy, ate breakfast & got dressed. We visited the petting zoo again today, as the peahen just hatched 6 chicks. The Boy is a sucker for this sort of thing, and it being Canada Day, it's not like we had anything else to do. The chicks were very cute, and we were vastly entertained by the site of the babies running after the hen everywhere she went. It wasn't until we ran into a bunch of slack jawed yokels at the bunny hutch that we had to leave. The father of this illustrious clan was tearing branches off nearby bushes and putting them in the pen for the bunnies, while the mother was feeding the rabbits her ice cream cone. I could feel myself about to cause a scene, so we took off before I could boil over. I have no wish to get the Boy permanently banned from the petting zoo, despite the fact that it would make my life marginally easier.

In the afternoon I baked banana muffins, burned 2 CD's and washed the mountain of dishes generated by the weekend (I have to say, I am not enjoying being the house bitch. I'd get a job if it were possible.) Now I'm trying to make it through "Glengarry GlenRoss." Tough slogging...
