me

April 26, 1999.

All right. I'm not fooling around, sweetheart. One more step...and the hair gets it.

I am at the limit of my patience with my hair. It has been completely fried from the bleach sessions of the summer, which irks me, incedentally. It's not like I had my hair done by squeegee kids in a Mickey D's sink. There was actually a hairdresser - one my mom recommended - at work for each of the 5 bleachings. Scherezade is of the opinion that I should guilt my mom into paying for a repair session at a competent salon; but my mom doesn't hold the hairdresser culpable. I don't know what logic she's using. Maybe it's because this is the same girl who's marrying my cousin in 2 months.

It's not like I'm going to sue; I just want her to take some sort of professional responsibility. Expect me in a sensible short urban do in the near future, cause this sucks.

This morning I woke from a dream in which I met (and kissed) the Boy's younger brother, who looked almost exactly like the Boy except shorter and more innocent looking. The essential Boy, distilled into a 22 year old body. This would logically make him Pixie Stix's twin.

Unlike most mornings, I had a chance to talk to her about this. I confirmed that when she was born, her father was in the waiting room and her mother was deep under, so there could've been another one secretly spirited away. Strangely enough, the doctor thought that Pixie Stix was twins based on prenatal tests. Apparently, she wiggled her bum around so much, they thought there were two. And she's a Gemini.

None of this explains the Vita Sackville-West incident, though.

Two good pieces of news today. The first concerns my last essay. I got it back today, and was totally shocked to find an "A" scrawled on the last page, as well as the comment "thoughtful, perceptive, interesting and poignant." The poignant part is definitely a first for me. Most of us are of the opinion that I got the A for finishing Clarissa from stem to stern...but all of us are of the opinion that I deserve such a reward.

The second piece of news is even more shocking and welcome. Scherezade & I went by the tattoo place in the Market that the Boy is always recommending to get my 3 characters priced. $50. Total. Way Cool Tattoos priced the same set at $170. This is something I can afford now, not after my tax return. Amazing stuff.

Now there's nothing else to do but strut...
