me

April 7, 1999.

I'm writing this in my last Greek Drama class. I hate suffering through dead time when I've got other stuff to do. One exam this morning, one on Friday and a 40% essay due on Friday as well. Two days to the end of classes. I was supposed to read Orlando this week.

I feel like my feet are in a vise.

Not much has gone on recently. I've slept, ate, read, wrote & studied my pert little ass off. An online friend keeps calling me - but he's on California time and I don't have evenings anymore.

Every morning I catch my streetcar opposite one of the city's most notorious goth bars.

Every night I fall asleep to that cliché of city noise that rises to my 3rd floor aerie.

(It's a welcome change from my roommate's constant latenight teevee viewing. My place is so silent now! I wish I could praise my roommate for her consideration during my time of exam stress - but it's really because she's too lazy to unpack anything, including her glass teat/dildo.)

As you can guess from that last paragraph, I'm very tense. But very happy, too. I look forward to the weekend, when I will be obligation-free and all set to enjoy my fashionable apartment. I've already bought "Ultra-Lounge Vol. IV: Bachelor Pad Royale." Could anything be lacking in this vision of perfection?

Got kicked out of the East Asian Studies office this afternoon. Although I was being quiet as a mouse, the officious little secretary would rather keep the newly furnished place absolutely empty. She brought new meaning to the term rectofossal ambiguity.

(fossa is Latin for hole)

Following this, I retreated to the quietest library on campus and listened to my fellow students snore. Then it was off on a ramble with Dirk. Unfortunately, his dinner break's only an hour, but we still managed to banter wittily and make many foolish off-the-French-cuff purchases. In addition to "Bachelor Pad Royale," I indulged myself with Vol. III of the same series - "Spacecapades." What can I say, they were on sale.

Besides, "Spacecapades" contains the vital "Holiday for Strings," better known as a very special piece of Simpsons background music. I won't say anymore here...I want to use it to surprise some IRL friends in the studio audience.

Oh, the puckish potential of lounge!!

And by the way, I'm aware of the graphics problem with the March 30th entry and also the non-appearance of the little umbrellas. This time it's not because I'm an idiot, I swear...Geocities claims that JPG's are an invalid file extension, and I can't get close to the central computer to reason with it via sledgehammer. As soon as I can get them up I'll let you know, sweetie darlings.
