"Dan?"

"Br-[unintelligible]" He smiles broadly and grips my hand.

"Why are you looking for Dan?"

"He knows a friend of mine from Toronto, so I thought I could pick him out here."

The grin has yet to leave his face and he continues to hold my hand in a 'hey baby' fashion.

"Who's your friend?"

"Stacy."

"I don't know her."

"Yeah."

"If you can't find Dan, come back and find me."

"Okay." I smile and walk away.

Looking for people you know through the Internet is always a harrowing experience. I never do it by myself, always with a (male) companion. You look keenly into faces, totting up half-remembered details and trying your best to project a recognizable web persona. This Br-something had looked me up & down when he walked in, so silly little me, I assumed he was trying to see identity behind the pretty goth girl exterior.

Turns out that he was just checking me out. I can live with that.

The Boy, however, was uncharacteristically jealous. I can count on one hand the number of times he's gone green-eyed and still have some fingers left over for snapping and gesturing. That's one of the things that I love about him, and one of the reasons that we can live together peaceably. Because I'm a bit of a flirt, and I have a penchant for saucy outfits, so trust is a necessary ingredient in out Matrimonial Pie.

He thinks he went nuts because this Br-whatever ignored him and was unaware of our marriage, which implies that he not only trusts me, but he trusts everyone around me to respect what God has joined together. Isn't he a sweet innocent bunny rabbit?
