Bleargh. I'm getting worn out. Today was our second full day of setting up the household, and we have to make the most of our few days with my parents' van. We're pushing ourselves pretty hard. And it suddenly got very hot as well as very sunny, so the walk up the hill from campus was just this side of excruciating. I had to be put in the tub immediately, like a baby left out in the sun. Bah.

It was a very productive day, though. In the morning we did a whole bunch of the banking crap that goes along with a big move. In the process of doing that, we also ordered cheques for our joint account - the Boy wanted the Maple Leafs design, I wanted the Anne Geddes bees. In the end, we got assorted Native designs. The teller thought we were amusing, which is always fun.

As soon as we got home from that, I trudged off to the university to pay my tuition. I was lucky in that I'd already seen the line up for the registrar before I left the house: I armed myself with the portable CD player and a copy of Violator and didn't find the hour long wait arduous at all. I'm used to this sort of thing at U of T, where bookstore & registrar line-ups can take more than one hour to navigate. It was obvious that this wasn't the norm for Acadia, though. Tempers were flaring rather high in the line-up as the afternoon wore on, especially among the parents who had accompanied their tender young offspring in the line. I just cranked "Clean" and kept to myself. Every once in awhile I would catch myself starting to dance, which is terribly embarrassing. But at least I was having a good time.

The remainder of our afternoon was filled with a depressing trip to New Minas for used furniture. I just couldn't believe what was being charged for middle of the road new furniture...and what some people were charging for the worst junk. We found just one place with decent wares at a fair price, and we dropped three bills on the necessary bits of furniture we'll need to keep this place from becoming a hippie crash pad (which it somewhat resembles right now, what with all the blankets & pillows strewn everywhere.)

And then I had to swallow my pride and go to the store that canned me so many months ago. I really didn't have any choice - we've been bathing for the last 2 days but we couldn't go another day without a shower curtain. I hate the fact that they have everything we need, and that the area lacks a viable alternative, like a Walmart. But we have a shower curtain now, pride or no pride. I guess that's the most important thing. Clean bodies.

Sigh.
