So last night I went to a party commemorating the launch of D1, a space mission from the 80s which had the honour of taking up the first Dutchman in space, Dr. Wubbo Ockels.

It wasn't the funnest party I've ever been to, but, hey, it's not every day you get to meet the first Dutchman in space. Pretty cool.

For the worried:

I am okay. I am all in one piece.

For the curious:

Last Wednesday (on Vivien's birthday, no less), I fell off the ladder to my roof, and landed two floors down. I don't know how long I was unconscious or what happened really. My mind has chosen to blank out everything from when I lost my grip on the ladder to when I came to in the ambulance. I wasn't fully aware until I got to the hospital.

For the ghoulish:

11 stitches on the back of my head.
1 hematoma on my ear (minor).
both upper arms bruised.
left upper leg bruised.
left forefinger bruised.
1 possible concussion.

For me:

I'm sorry I freaked out my roommates and friends.
Thanks to Amber and Darren who took care of me afterwards.
Thanks to both roommates who took care of me during.
Thanks to everyone who talked to me on the phone to keep me awake during the first 24 hours.
Big thanks to Dr. Krijs for being so cool.
Big thanks to the lady who sewed up my head, who may or may not have been the doctor (I was kind of out of it).
Big thanks to the EMTs and the ambulance people.
Big thanks to all the emergency staff at Westeinde Hospital.
Thanks to my boss for being so understanding.
Thanks to everyone for not mentioning this to my parents.

I'm okay. Really.
