So today I saw the Recruit, and it pretty much reminded why I don't normally watch movies like this. No, it didn't suck. No, it wasn't great. It was a pretty competent movie, pretty well middle of the road. Nothing to like, nothing to dislike, nothing to really get interested in. I hate movies like this, movies that don't provoke any response. Don't get me wrong: I can watch crap just as much as the next guy... this is the girl who sat through Red Sonja 8 times. What I object to is a movie that's been so obviously fine-tuned to be inoffensive. It's beyond formulaic. You can actually spot the plot twists that were dictated by the focus group reviews.
Also, the current season of Buffy and Angel started here yesterday and I was one happy little camper. posted by Alleen at 10:23:16 PM

I am a great big spazz.
I'm typing this with one hand, not for any wierdly perverted (or fun) reasons, but because I've scalded my hand. In the process of draining some pasta I managed to upend a pot of boiling water on my hand. That was two hours ago. In the meantime, I've alternated between sitting with my hand in a bowl of ice water and being in horrific pain. My mom called and told me not to use too much ice because I may give myself frostbite. My dad chimed in with, "don't just leave it. You could scar yourself."
So between worries of scarring myself, giving myself frostbite, and alternating between pain and cold, I've had a pretty unrelaxing Sunday. On the plus side, I'm watching tv. I discovered that I like Farscape, and that Mutant X is unmitigated trash, though it does star two hot guys in various tight outfits. It's fabulous on mute.
Also, the laptop is better for one-handed typing because the keyboard is smaller. Hah! And I thought the world had nothing more to teach me. posted by Alleen at 5:52:01 PM
